What is Affiliate Marketing?
I know some bloggers will already have a good grasp on what affiliate marketing is. However, I also know that many people are a little fuzzy on the definition - so let's start with that.
Perhaps the simplest way to explain affiliate marketing is that it is a way of making money online whereby you as a publisher are rewarded for helping another business by promoting their product or service.
The idea is that other businesses are willing to pay you a ‘finders fee’ for sending them new business.
There are a number of types of affiliate promotions but in most cases they involve you as a publisher earning a commission when someone follows a link on your blog to another site where they then buy something.
Commissions are usually a percentage of the sale your referral generates.
