Hi , How's your blogging week been? An email from the web hosting provider Siteground captured my interest today. I'm an affiliate for Sitegroudn and they send a heap of emails to their affiliates, most of which I ignore, but today's email was about a report they've prepared, in honor of Earth Day (Saturday 22nd April), explaining all their efforts toward reducing their and their clients’ websites' environmental impact. You can read their Sustainability Report 2023 and even use their cool tool to calculate your own website's carbon footprint: calculate your website's carbon footprint

I speak with bloggers every day who have heard the stories of blogs that make big dollars and who want to try to make an income from blogging also. However, it’s worth pausing to ask yourself whether making money from your blog is right for you.

In today’s episode you’ll hear the story of Robert Farrington, a finance blogger. After a couple of fairly unfocused years where he made no money from his blog, Robert managed to turn things around through storytelling and taking his readers on a journey.
In his third year he made $30,000, and today he earns a high seven-figure income from his blogging business, with more than a million people reading his blog every month. Hear a little bit more about their blogging journey as they share: - a mistake they made starting out
- something they’re grateful that they did
- a
tip for new bloggers
- something good that’s happened since they started.

Back in November of 2002 when I first hit ‘publish’ on my original (and short lived) Blogspot Blog I did so believing that this ‘blogging thing’, which I’d only just heard of, would be a bit of fun. I started for a number of reasons but in short it was curiosity and the hope of a new hobby and perhaps some new connections that drew me to it. At the time I was working three
jobs. Over time, through hard work and discipline, using the techniques I’m going to share with you in these courses, my blogs have grown from a hobby (some would say an obsession), to a part-time, then a full-time job, all the way through to a fully fledged business employing a team of people.
