Hi ,
How's your blogging week been?
As I was listening to the radio this afternoon I heard a discussion about the use of artifical intelligence for reproduction of voices. While this technology does have some positive applications, like providing a voice for those who have lost their ability to communicate, the discussion was prompted by the latest evolution of phone scams asking you for money. Scams that use familiar voices generated from audio snippets trawled
from the internet - for example uploaded social media videos.
This example really does highlight the importance of authenticity. In an age when seemingly anything can be reproduced or mimicked, authenticity and your true voice is going to become ever more valuable.
But there's a tension and balance to be found between authenticity and privacy. This week's post from the archives explores this juggling act.
Authenticity means erasing the gap between what you firmly
believe inside and what you reveal to the outside world.
